Federer Defeated Isner in Second Round

Roger Federer won the match against John Isner at Shanghai, China at Shanghai Rolex Masters.

The world number three, Federer defeated American John Isner with 6-3, 6-4, while world number one Rafael Nadal defeated Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka 6-4 and 6-4 and Murray thrashed Chinese wildcard Bai Yan with 6-2 and 6-2.

It was Federer’s spectacular showboating shot when he had his back to the net in the second set that drew the day’s biggest cheers.

Federer said, “The reaction to the shot was amazing, as it usually is. I’m hitting that shot so well now, I’ve attempted it something like four times in the last few years, and every time I made it — and won the point off of it.”
